Behind the Lens
Stefanie Galler is a New York City-based film director and screenwriter with a passion for telling bold, funny, and deeply human stories about women. Her work often lives in the world of dark comedy, using humor to explore the messy, unexpected, and sometimes uncomfortable sides of the female experience.
Stefanie studied acting at AMDA Conservatory and screenwriting at Gotham Writers Workshop. Her first film, We’re All Alright, premiered at the New York Short Film Festival. Her latest project, Freaks, premiered at the Raindance Film Festival and was an official selection of Film Shortage.
Stefanie is drawn to stories that feel honest, surprising, and a little bit unruly—stories that challenge expectations while making audiences laugh, feel, and see themselves in something they may not have expected.
